Arthur Bakhtamyan was born on January 28, 1963 in Yerevan. He graduated from Theater and Journalism Department of Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute. Arthur Bakhtamyan appeared on the TV with program series called Cinema Express (1990) which later were followed by Midnight Express (1999), Fifth Wheel (2004), Crossroads (Khachpoghan), Cock-crow (Aklorakanch) (2007), We are Armenians (2009), Armenian Cause programs. In 2011 he got the annual “Azdarar “ (herald) prize of the Journalist’s Union. As a producer and director he carried out the following movie projects: Ethiopian Diary (2011), Image of the Armenian Woman (2010), Cilician Knot (2008), Harutyun Dellalian (2007, De Cine de Granada), Hecatomb (2005), Venice of the Armenian’s (2004, Tekeyan Foundation Prize), Yerkir Nairi (Country of Nairi) (2001). Arthur Bakhtamyan holds the title of Armenia’s Honored Journalist and teaches at Yerevan Pedagogical University and Yerevan Institute of Cinematography and Theatre. Underway are his The Last End-of-Year March documentary and Iosiph Brodsky: Dialogue play.
