The annual Eurovision Song Contest, founded in 1956, is considered as the most spectacular and popular TV project of Europe. The idea of the latter belongs to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

The first Eurovision Song Contest was held in 1956 in the Swiss city of Lugano. Switzerland was recognized as the winning state at the first contest.

Till now Eurovision is considered as one of the most succeeded and famous TV projects of the world with its format, and millions of people await it every year.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest was founded in 2003. In 2005 Eurovision celebrated its 50th anniversary, during which TV viewers selected Abba’s “Waterloo” song as the best song in the history of Eurovision.

Every year Eurovision unites 180 million spectators. Armenia, too, ensures its stable presence. Armenia has been participating in Eurovision since 2006, and in Junior Eurovision – since 2007.
